HOTEL INFORMATION
The 2007 hotel information listed on this Web site under HOUSING will be similar in 2008. Check back for updates.

GROUND TRANSPORTATION
There is free shuttle bus service connecting the meet hotels with the stadium for both registration and the competition.

DIRECTIONS
Folsom High School is located on the east side of Sacramento off of Highway 50. Exit off of Highway 50 on Prairie City Road. Stadium is located on the north side of the Highway.

PARKING AT THE TRACK
Parking is free. Enter off of Prairie City Road

FACILITY
Considered one of the finest High School stadiums in the country including a 10 lane state-of-the-art track. Only ¼" spikes or racing flats are acceptable.

REGISTRATION/PACKET PICKUP
Registration will be at the Track
Friday June 6 - 3:00 p.m. 6:00 p.m.
Saturday June 7 - 7:30 am-5:00 pm

Entering the event is by ONLINE ONLY, by clicking on this link. Deadline to enter is Sunday, June 1, 2008 by 11:59 p.m. The entry form is processed electronically and you will be automatically cleared for packet pickup. Print out the electronic receipt and bring it with you to packet pickup.

Each athlete receives one admission ticket for an accompanying coach or adult. Additional tickets may be purchased online, or at registration on Saturday, or at the gate during the competition hours.

ADMISSION TO THE TRACK

Athletes - Admission is via the competition number. COMPETITOR NUMBERS ARE TO BE WORN ON THE FRONT ONLY with the exception of the pole-vault. Competition numbers will be distributed at packet pickup.

Coaches - Enter through athlete gate or normal admission gate and show admission ticket. All others must purchase admission tickets.

Admission - Advance tickets may be purchased ONLINE until June 5: $5.00 each for adults; $2.50 each for students. Meet day prices are $10.00 each for adults and $5 each for students. Children under 13 have FREE admission. Each athlete will receive one pass ONLY. Please do not request more.

ACCESSIBILITY TO TRACK PRIOR TO MEET
Athletes are welcome to use the track and field facilities on Friday, 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.

WELCOME BARBECUE
A welcome barbecue is planned for Friday June 6, 7 p.m., at Folsom High School. This is a great way for athletes and coaches to meet each other and to see the facility. Tickets for the barbecue can be purchased online with your meet entry.

GWI BARBECUE KEYNOTE SPEAKER: To be annnounced.

WARM UP DURING MEET
Athletes may warm up on the field inside the stadium located on the northeast side of the stadium, on the field outside the stadium located north of the stadium or on the cross country course located on the east side of the stadium.

TRACK INFORMATION
Seeding will be done as follows: 6-5-7-4-8-3-9-2-10-1

In the daytime section of the meet, there will be trials in the 100, 200, 100Hurdles and 110 Hurdles with finals in the late afternoon. The winner of the daytime section will be allowed to compete in the evening section. There are no trials in the evening section-only finals.

FIELD EVENT INFORMATION:

Javelin Details
All implements must meet the specifications defined in the USATF rule book. The USATF javelin must have a "sharp metal head." You can review all of the rules at usatf.org rules

Implement Inspection
All implements for competition must meet USATF Rules and must be submitted for inspection at the Folsom High School facility on the day of the competition beginning at 7 am.

Sectors
A 34.92 degree sector will be used for the shot put, discus, javelin and hammer

HEAT SHEETS
Heat sheets will be posted at packet pickup on Friday morning

AWARDS
Gold, Silver and Bronze medals will be awarded to the first three places in both the day meet and the evening meet. All athletes will receive adidas Golden West Meet t-shirts and adidas bags.
